Maternal and Child Health—Improving Oral Health Integration (MCH-IOHI) Demonstration Projects

The aim is to improve access to integrated POHC in primary care services accessible to MCH populations at increased or higher risk for poor oral health. Funding will support an MCH-IOHI Alliance to include key state stakeholders such as policy, practice, and public health leaders, healthcare providers, healthcare payers, and public health surveillance experts.

MCH-IOHI Consortium

Applications due: January 22

As the principal TA provider, the Consortium will accelerate the adoption and implementation of evidence based integrated POHC strategies that aim to advance health equity. The Consortium will provide targeted TA (using implementation science and collaborative learning) to strengthen each team’s two-tier state and local improvement approach. The Consortium will also provide universal TA that is easily accessible to all states and jurisdictions.

Cooperative Newborn Screening System Priorities Program (NBS Co-Propel)

Applications due: February 23

The purpose of this program is to strengthen the NBS to provide screening, counseling, and health care services to newborns and children with, or at risk for, heritable disorders and help them achieve the best possible outcomes.

National Coordinating Center on Transition

Applications due: March 11

The purpose of this program is to develop and advance national, state, and local/community-level frameworks that support successful transition from child to adult serving systems for youth with autism and/or epilepsy who have complex health and social needs and require a higher level of family support and coordination.

State Maternal Health Innovation

Applications due: April 2

The purpose of the program is to reduce maternal mortality and severe maternal morbidity (SMM) by:

  • Improving access to care that is comprehensive, high-quality, appropriate, and on-going throughout the preconception, prenatal, labor and delivery, and postpartum periods
  • Enhancing state maternal health surveillance and data capacity
  • Identifying and implementing innovative interventions to improve outcomes for populations disproportionately impacted by maternal mortality and SMM.

Autism Field-Initiated Innovative Research Studies (Autism FIRST)

Applications due: April 3

The purpose of the program is to support empirical research that advances the evidence on early screening and interventions to improve the health and well-being of children, adolescents, and young adults with autism and other DD across the lifespan.
